WORSHIP
Worship is the heart of our life as
God's people; God's Word and the Sacraments - Baptism and the Lord's Supper -
the life-blood. Our worship at Sherwood Park is marked by:
- Music: choirs and bands, vocal and instrumental music enrich our
worship.
- Variety: in any given month you can expect several different
worship styles at our Sunday worship. Our contemporary Young Earth Mass is
generally used on the first Sunday of the month.
- Leadership: many people are involved in worship leadership and
supportive roles.
- Multi-sensory Engagement: we use words, music, images, movement,
children's sermons and bulletins, drama, interpersonal connections, the
sensory elements of the Sacraments to engage people in our worship.
- Intergenerational Participation: because of the multi-sensory
nature of our worship, people of all ages are engaged in our worship life. We
try to make the worship experience for children a welcoming and inviting one.
In addition to our regular Sunday worship, we also offer:
- Daytimers' Senior Worship: third Thursday of the month, 1 - 3 pm,
September to May - familiar hymns, Holy Communion, refreshments and
fellowship, transportation available.
- Festival worship services: Christmas, Holy Week, Easter.
- Midweek services during Lent.
- Prayers and Anointing for Healing.
